I wrote a pretty extensive feature on the Chicago Kwik-E-Mart based on a 4-hour visit Tuesday. THEY had plenty of KrustyO’s in stock. You won’t believe how much money they were making over there.

I’ve also got audio of the store’s owner telling customers “Thank you, come again” with an Indian accent, arguing that the Simpsons are bigger than Star Wars and saying that Apu’s character inspired him to buy his first 7-Eleven.

I was impressed. I just got home from touring the new Mountain View Kwik-E-Mart. It obviously wasn’t perfect, but I am still entertained and amused by the idea and production of it all.
